Venue & location
Exit 611, Opp. Global Village - Emirates Rd - Dubai - United Arab Emirates
Hamdan Sports Complex Dubai sits on Emirates Road opposite Global Village and is one of the largest multi-purpose venues in the UAE. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum opened it in 2010. The Sheikh Hamdan Sports Complex has a striking blue exterior, and its interior centres on an arena with a capacity of 15,000 spectators. The stands look over a 10-lane Olympic pool and a diving tank with diving platforms from 1m to 10m. Movable pool floors turn the arena into dry land for events such as concerts, exhibitions and the Dubai Premier Padel P1, one of the biggest padel tournaments in the region. Between big events, the complex is a public Dubai swimming pool with solar-heated 50m lanes. It also has a fully equipped gym, badminton courts, a sauna and a jacuzzi. Adults need an Emirates ID, and the academies teach children from the age of three. The address is just off Emirates Road (E611), an easy location with parking for more than 1,600 cars. Visitors coming from further away can pick from hotels near the venue in the surrounding Dubailand area.
